Therapeutic Training & Background

I am certified in Internal Family Systems and am especially passionate about using parts work as my main modality in treating trauma and eating disorders. I have over 90 hours of trauma-informed yoga training and 20 hours of somatic experience. I am a play therapist (RPT) in training under Kate Weir, LPC, RPT-S. I have over 3,000 hours of experience using child-centered play therapy and child-parent relationship therapy. I have training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I serve on The Current’s Eating Disorder Consultation Team.

Jackie holds Master’s in Education in Clinical Mental Health from Stephen’s College and is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). She has years of experience working with children and adolescents across a variety of settings including community mental health services and private practice.

Professional Style

I utilize play therapy for children ages ten and under. Child parent relationship therapy is used for attachment and is used to increase the child parent attachment bond. Play therapy creates a space of safety and understanding. It allows children to heal, build coping skills, and be their most authentic selves.

For older clients, one of my goals is to bring awareness to the client through tracking, reflecting, and attunement. I utilize IFS with teens and adults. I utilize my trauma yoga knowledge when working with bodies that hold depression, anxiety, and various kinds of trauma. I use parts work to start understanding our internal world and the different coping methods we use and and I also incorporate DBT skills to give us a chance to adapt to new skills that align with our system.
